Chasho (Chadorashb) is one of the local textiles of Guilan. This traditional textile produced by small machines with special visual features. Magic colors along with the symbolic repetitive motifs created a unique feature. The main questions of present research are that what is the symbolic concepts of Chasho (Chadorashb), and what are the similarities between the motifs of chasho and the signs of Iranian ideogram? The purpose of the research is to identify concepts and visual history of chasho motifs. The research method is descriptive - analytical while collecting data is via bibliographic studies through noting and reading image. Data analyzes qualitatively. According to the findings, some of the pictorial foundations of Chasho can be seen in historical monuments of the region. Many of the chasho motifs are comparable to Elamite ideograms of third millennium BC. Therefore, these signs are significant ones that persist over millennia of evolution on traditional fabrics. One can suggest blessing and fertility as the meaning of some of chasho motifs.
